Why We Love Her

She’s mother to two handsome boys. She’s a Wholistic Personal Training and a Certified Labor Doula who is striving for peace and harmony in her life. She knows her purpose in life is to support women and children. She has chosen to do that by supporting the natural birthing process, by supporting breast feeding, and by promoting women’s health.

She extols the Love’s Gumbo Affirmation:
I know me, I like me, and I take time for me because I deserve it.

What She Can Teach Us

How to love our bodies through proper nutrition, exercise and spiritual practice. How to enjoy the tools God has given us to experience birthing and nuturing our children. How to love our children as an independent mother.

Where to Find Her
Peace and Harmony Holistic Personal Training
In Her own Words

I am an independent mother of two beautiful boys ages 8 and 13 years. I am a certified personal trainer/fitness coach, Lifestyle & Weight Management Specialist and Certified Labor Doula. I am the founder of Umi’s Womb, a labor support service company and Peace & Harmony Holistic Personal Training. For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to help women and their children. The avenue that I have chosen is through the family via health, fitness, nutrition, birth, breast feeding, nurturing the family on a level that binds them together. My philosophy is that the mother sets the tone of the home, on all levels whether its on a mental, physical, spiritual or emotional level, the children look to her. She is the educator, the nuturer, the nurse, the caregiver, the cheerleader in the home. However, if she is ill prepared, she can not do an effective job. My role in this world is to be a vessel to those women who need encouragement to fortify their lives as well as their families. Through Umi’s Womb, I have worked with countless women and their husbands who have chosen to have their babies with no medical intervention at home and in the hospital and have been their “calm in the midst of the storm”. I have supported women who have decided to breastfeed in a not so “breastfeeding friendly” society and given support. I have supported women who have no one to turn to when the labor pains kick in and given them the love and compassion they needed. If only to do one thing, to let them know that their choice was their choice and I will support and love them right through it.

Personal training is an art for me simply because it goes beyond the gym. I call it art because when women come to me for personal training, I look for what I can help them create. I see the beauty in them, the lines, the curves. I want them see what I see, they don’t at first, because their self esteem is low, they might be over weight, they have never worked out in their lives or they just don’t believe they can do it. My job is to encourage them to see the bigger picture….and to understand that it’s about making small modifications that cause big changes in their lives. At the end, when they see where they’ve come from, the “blank canvas” and where their journey ends, “canvas full of vibrant color and life” it can’t be anything else but beautiful….that’s Art. Through nutrition, teaching them how to eat and exercise, finding the right fit for their personality to keep them engaged and reach their goals, I have helped many become aware of their choices concerning their health. It is the Greatest reward on earth next to being a Mother! My purpose on this earth is to enlighten and elevate those who cross my path. When you think of me, I want you to be able to say that I shared something with you that was valuable, that you can use and tell someone else. Bi Nka Bi Peace & Harmony
